Hello guys, I've been recently taking a look at the Altec lansing iM716s, but there's something off about them. First off, they started on amazon for about 200 dollar and then there was a massive price drop.(To about 50 dollar). There's also a massive gap in the phone's reviews. Many 4s and 5s but many 1s aswell. So i've come here to ask if anyone owns these phone and if there's a fake of them on the market, or did the company just not get good sales and dropped the price? Also, what's the sound quality on these things, considering these will be my first 'expensive' IEMs.

No, It's a discontinued product. The msrp was high till they discontinued it prices fell to very low levels(sub $60). Like most etymotic type in ear there are some people who just don't like the sound or fit creating very polarized reviews.
 
They are still consider very good
