I've got some ath-a700s right now, but the cable is starting to get funky, and I'm looking for a new pair of cans.

I listen to 65% electronica, 35% indie/rock/alternative, and I really like the clarity and soundstage of the a700s, but now I'm looking for something maybe a step up from there. I really don't have a bias towards any particular brand,

tl;dr: I'm open to any suggestions for headphones that do really well with mostly electronica and some rock, ideally no more than $300

superb soundstage. detail and texture is somewhat similar to the dt880+much more needed bass will do well for your category type tracks.

How about the Grado line? SR225i, and "save" $100. Or better, get a used one for about $150.
