Alright, finalizing my headphone decision: 555 vs 590

i don't own a hd 555, but i'm pretty sure the cable IS detachable. http://www.crutchfield.com/S-EUEuLvc...700&I=143HD555
also, if you go to headphile.com, they sell the same cable to fit both the HD-590 and the HD-555.
unless there's some false advertising going on, i'm pretty sure both cords (HD-590 and HD-555) are detachable.
by the way, the one i have for sale (the headphile one) is perfect for portability because it's one meter long, and ends in a mini connection.

sennheiser and headroom do not mention that it has a detatchable cable (they mention this for the headphones that do), and I know for sure the hd595 doesn't. its highly unlikely that its detachable.

So you mean I can plug the cable you have into the 555 and thats it? I see I have to open up the headphone.... have you guys done this before and is it difficult?

hmm...actually now i'm not sure--the cable replacement pdf seems a lot harder than my cable. I just plug it into my hd-590, no dismantling. I emailed the headphile guy to find out, he should get back to me soon.

Actually the HD555 doesn't have the "plug 'n play cable" feature of the HD590.
No 'outer' plugs here, you must open the headphone's cups to substitute the cable. The 'connector' is on the inside. It's still simple, but not nearly as immediate.
