Already own the ATH-M50X... adding the Beyer DT770 Pro 80 Ohm to my collection would be a "waste" of money?

Hi all,

I have the ATH-M50X which I like very much. I listen metal (thrash metal, death metal) most of the times.

But recently I'm being toying with the idea of buying a Beyerdynamic to my collection.

Since I want an "fun" headphone and not a neutral one, with a emphasis on bass, tight bass response, I thought about the DT770 Pro 80 Ohm.

My problem is, I can't try them and all I can do is read reviews or youtube. And it seems the ATH-M50X has more bass than the DT770 80...

So, buying the DT770 80 Ohm would be a "waste" of money since I already own the ATH-M50X, would they be "too similar" headphones or still worth it?

And what about the DT990 250 Ohm against the ATH-M50X, "too similar" again (I know the ATH-M50X are closed and the 990 open) or they are worlds apart in terms of sound?

Thanks!

Soundmagic HP200 open headphones or HP151 closed headphones.

Thanks! Will check-up them!

But any thoughts about my question? Just curious now about their similarities...
They kind of sound the same.
The DT770 80-Ohm/250-Ohm needs more power then the ATH-M50X.
The 32-Ohm Soundmagic HP151 is like an improved DT770.
I'm using the HP151 right now :)
