Cash's The man comes around is one of my standard test tracks.  Great test of mid texture and presence.
 
I can't find any info on whether they get high-resolution audio from the labels directly.  It would be nice to know they're not just ripping and resampling CDs...

Do HDtracks have any plans to reduce the crazy prices we in the UK are asked to pay for downloads? I'm sorry but £17 per album is silly money.

They are all label sponsored releases. It would be impossible to release a hi-res track without access to the original masters or a sanctioned remaster. In the latter case, look at the Rush re-masters - clearly sanctioned. And the results are incredible to hear.
