Hello!

I bought a highly recommended here Valhalla Power Cord and am very happy with the results. After burn-in it is better than genuine branded cables 30 times more expensive.

I have a 12-cores version and wonder what is the difference of my version when compared to the 15-cores version. Anyone compared 12-cores to 15-cores? Is 15-cores noticably better (worse)? What is the difference in sound? I will be very grateful for any input.

I have the 15 core version, haven't tried 12 core.

I figured 15 is better than 12 if everything is equal. Maybe @Crypt Keeper has tried the 12 core version of the valhalla cable?

I am very happy with the 12-cores Valhalla overall. After the burn-in the cable is extremely transparent and fast with no apparent weak points. Much, much better than branded cables I had. However, to be absolutely perfect I would need maybe just a very tiny bit of more midrange saturation and bass weight. I guess 15-cores - as a thicker cable- should deliver this, but who knows? I do not want a heavy, bassy sound I had with Odin 2 Powercord. Valhalla 12-cores is almost perfect. If nobody compared I will probably have to buy the 15-cores and check by myself...

I see there are several Xangsane silver XLRs, incl the 9003 and 9001. I read a bit of an exchange on another forum where both cables were highly rated and some folk who'd tried both preferred the 9003 - have you tried both and do you concur? Cheers.

I bought the 9003 6N pure silver, and I recommend it.
It's better than the Odin silver, and my other copper XLR cables.
I'm going to buy a second pair.

I was looking at their store and saw that they offer interconnects thats a little bit more than the 9003ag. Not much more about $40 for 1m.

This is the review from one of the people who bought it.

"I have the 9003Ag interconnect as well. This looks less impressive with PVC barrels and a home-made look, inspired of costing 40$ more for the 0.5m pair.but I replaced the 9003 and have played these for maybe 10 hours. Initially I couldn't hear ANY meaningful differences, but now these appear to have a clearer purer sound with enhanced space and air. Bass performance is so far identical to the 9003, although that may change with more time. this probably is worth the extra amount over the 9003 if you are a serious listener and your equipment is up to it, but for many people the 9003 is plenty good enough. For longer runs the price difference becomes more noticeable...for instance -I need a 4-5 m pair, and this would be over $700! So I probably will just get the 9003 for that."

Speaking of every bit in the chain, when I was going through the Xangsane store's offerings I came across their pure silver DC cables (incl USB > DC 2.1/2.5). Quite reasonably priced too, relatively speaking for pure silver.

Xangsane 5N sterling silver dc power cable 5.5 DC2.1-2.5 2P hifi aviation cable dc plug to dc2.5/2.1 audio cable

They are amongst their most popular products based on AliX sales stats and reviews.

Anyone tried em?

I have a few mainly network devices I'm thinking of trying em on.
Yes, I did. They are very good.
I replaced all my DC cables with these Xangsane cables.

Its really interesting how advanced they're getting with these cables.

I've seen that they're experimenting with varying alloys of copper and silver, sterling silver which is 92.5% copper, cuag4, cuag8, cuag12, etc. I believe the last number indicates how much % of silver is in the alloy.

I've seen some companies using mineral oil soaked conductors and shielding material in iem cables. Theres also extra layers of shielding and various types of dielectrics, like FEP and PTFE instead of pvc.

On top of that some companies like xangsane are claiming that their alloys go through a more refined drawing process, could be just marketing but could be something there as well.

I have this cable and brought it to canjam to compare to some of the offerings there. I was really blown away when I heard the flash acoustics cables.

That palladium mix cable is superior to the hakugei healer cable I have. The flash acoustics cables were superior to this cable and the gains were not subtle.

I bought a few of these DC cables too.
But I consider the Xangsane cables are better.
I haven't compared the xangsane dc cable but you're probably right.

And if I were buying blind, I'd get the xangsane just from their reputation. Unfortunately at the time when I bought that cable, xangsane did not offer that dc cable.
