Alexander Lokshin

Is anyone familiar with the work of Alexander Lokshin? I recently picked up the Shostakovich Symphonies conducted by Barshai, and in the liner notes it indicates that Barshai was a strong proponent of Lokshin's work.

I've never heard of Alexander Lokshin and would appreciate any thoughts?
