Alesis MasterLink 9600

Thanks for the replies. Sounds like the Sony CDR-W33 I have now -- outstanding 16 bit recorder but falls short on playback.

Maybe I'll wait a few months, but these certainly seem like a good deal at $700-800.

If Alesis would only put the ML9600 burner in their HD24 (24 track swappable dual hard-disc recorder) life would be beautiful.

And the least they could put a DVD-ROM burner in the Masterlink now that they're so cheap so you can get more time on the 24/96 AIFF files and don't have to split an album up into lots of CDRs. Then when we get a DVD Audio standard (if ever) they could implement it through a firmware upgrade.

That too. But when it was being designed, DVD-R's weren't the "dime-a-dozen" that they are now.
