i would say the vibes since youre starting out. the 616 doesnt have bass to make it a good can unless amped i think. 616 is just very analytical and trebleish like ibuds.
also consider the CrossRoads MylarOne if you have the slim chance

Notice that the isolation between the two will be very different, since the Vibes are pretty much open.

The 616s are way better than iBuds, but they are light on bass.
