hello all,

the question is simple - which portable amp can sufficiently power the akg501?

i'm looking at the supermini/micro but somehow i doubt that they can do the job satisfactorily.

anyone with both the supermini/micro and the 501 care to comment?

any input would be welcome.

I use a supermini 5.18 (ety p to s converter) with my AKG 501's and a 2nd gen iPod. There is no problem with volume. To my ears the AKG's sound more realistic in this setup than the more efficient Alessandro MS1's. YMMV.
