In theory a good cheap amp for the Q701's would be the little dot MK I+ hybrid, or a magni. both come in at around $100 (£65) 
and a half decent soundcard/DAC as well.

I actually have both XD.I like the AKG Q701's, and the Astro A50's are the worst headphones I've ever used.

Heck I did the bass mod on the q701 and even without the mod the q701 just obliterate the a50.
