I recently acquired an AKG Q701 from a friend with the serial number "09750"

Is this a recent batch or old stock from 2010?

No such thing as far as we know of old stock or new stock.
Mine I purchased in November 2011 and it's "05171". It's the one with the good bass.
I imagine that's one of the latest versions, but no telling if it will be any different or the same as the rest.

It's fairly recent mate - last one I saw was serial no# 099xx something - Oz tends to get the latest serial numbers
as we get deliveries of stuff only a few times a year.

AKG only to date probably made around 09900 Q701s lol... Almost to the 10000 mark! The production of the Q701s are pretty slow though... Only about 09900 Q701s made in almost 2 Years ??!?!

Actually, my Q701 I bought last week is 10305.

Lol, so it is already over 10000.... AKG makes around 5500 Q701s each year...
