Someone suggested in another thread that the MMCX connector for the AKG N5005 would fit the peculiar Sennheiser connector.

I'm on record as hating the microphonic Sennheiser cable and would love to find an affordable replacement since the IEMs themselves are enjoyable.

There are cables on Ali with N5005 connectors, like this one, which also claims to fit the IE300.

Just so you know the Effects Audio cables Ares S, Cadmus & Eros 2 MMCX version works fone with any Sennheiser, N5005, Westone, etc.

Those Effects Audio cables cost as much as or more than the IE300 itself. Not an option for me.

If you message the sellers on aliexpress and ask if they can make a specific cable for the Sennheisers they're usually pretty good about doing it and responding. I did it with these cables from ivipq, and love them on my IE600s.

I had the same challenge and, likewise do not appreciate the IE600 stock cable as I prefer other wiring.
To solve the issue I had to get an adapter as the ie600's.

I tried a bucked of these adapters, bought from three different shops, and they are all a bit flimsy. The often lose connection as you move the cable.
Fixed the issue using a heath shrink wrap for added rigidity...

With this trick now I can use whatever cable I like best and my IE600 sound amazing.

found an even better adapter.. .this one is not wobbly and it does not need any fixing. Works really amazingly with any standard MCCX cable
