No sarcasm intended. Agreeing with your assessment of the sorry release protocol employed by AKG.

From AKG marketing:
"When you take a look at the technology AKG has put into their K812 reference headphones, they start to sound like they were reverse-engineered from an alien spacecraft."
Yes, indeed. Thank you! Let's get Spielberg to make the movie.
That's odd. HD700 and HD800 look more like the mothership.
The mothership seems to be the Sony Qualia, the geometry of the K812 earcup looks nearly stolen from there.
Nice review at the end of the day. You are very honest with many details. appreciate it a lot
Wow - what a comprehensive review, thanks for taking the time to relate your critique here, I know I will return to it for reference.
I've just taken receipt of these cans and note your remarks on steep burn in time before the signature settles.
These are my first pair of AKG headphones I've owned and from a build and aesthetics point of view, I'm quite impressed, they certainly feel highly engineered with very high quality use of materials and build quality, bar the flimsy looking cable. I also like the ease of driving these headphones, as so far the only listening I've done was amplified via Fiio E17, but I look forward to using my HFM EF-6 and Fostex HP-A8 shortly![]()
