AKG K812 HEADPHONES REVIEW Serial No 001106

Can anyone comment on the 812 vs LCD3? Looking to buy the 812, but I don't get the opportunity to try/demo products. Only buy them and store away what I don't like in the closet. I bought the LCD3/ifi Pro combo last month, but I think it's just okay. I'm mostly just looking for ultra high clarity. I have the 702 and I love them. My most used model. Just wondering whether the 812 is worth the purchase if I already have the LCD3

Does anybody know if later production runs fixed the problem of the right side cutting out? The wiring runs through the headband and I guess use stresses it out where the joints are, and it can cut out. I'm not sure if this was fixed in later runs...

This is a general mistake of the first series! I had that too.
The entire bracket containing the wiring must be replaced.
The best thing to do is to contact your local AKG service centre and claim this as a series fault and insist on a goodwill/warranty replacement. Don't be surprised, the headphones will then have a new serial number, as this is milled into the bracket.

Later this was fixed!
