I saw a pair of AKG K70's at a little music store today. The lady behind the counter literally blew the dust off the box when I asked to see them. They were plastic, lightweight, w/full on-ear pads. Not bad looking. The price was $59.00.
I'm new to this hobby. When I came home and searched them (just out of curiosity - I have no money), all I could find was info on 701's. Were these the precursors to the 701? Are they any good? Are they a good "hidden find" at that price? Oh yeah, impedance is high - 100ohm.
Anybody have any answers?

Looks like the predecessor to the K71. This one would be about 100% overpriced, too. If you had found a K100 (not K101), that would have been OK at this price.

Thanks, sgrossklass. I didn't know if it was a good find or not because it was such a strange old music shop.

I had AKG K70 headphones bough in 1996. They were quit nice but once I got Sony MDR-V6 the K70 went for the shelf.
