The left side of these headphones is intermittent and it keeps getting worse over time. What is the cheapest way to get this cable fixed/replaced?

Does all that stuff have to be taken a part eve just for the cord?

Do you know if it's the cable or connection in the headphone or jack?

You might want to have one of Head-Fi's AKG experts help take care of this. One was kind enough to repair my K701. Feel free to PM me if you need more details.

^^ I pmed the guy you mentioned 2 days ago- no response as of yet. Also checked radioshack and that didn't work

If I were unable to get this fixed, I might buy the k702.

Does the K702 have the annoying intermittent sound issue that would pop up every few months like it would with the HD580's, requiring a new cord? That is my only concern since it seems like the exact same thing as the k701.
