Hi,
I'm looking to buy one of these headphones. Currently I'm using Q701/Vali/Modi, and for me it's a little bright sounding setup. I'd call it a bright-neutral signature. Sometimes the mid-bass is overwhelming to my ears. So I'm looking for a warm-neutral  sound. Can anyone compare these two headphones, including amping ?
                                                                                                     thanks!

It might be better (and cheaper) to just do some mods (different ear pads?) on the Q701
Try asking here.

Can you compare it with hd600 please? and what amp have you paired with 612?

No. I've never compared the two directly.

As for amps, I've used it with several. I don't buy into the dac/amp synergy with headphone thing you are seeking, so I'd be of no help.

I own both, though, the K612 are on a permanent loan to a friend. The HD600 is more transparent, more detailed, more of everything. They are easier to drive than the K612, but do prefer a higher quality amplifier and DAC [than the Modi] to get the best out of them. I'm assuming your source material is high-quality. Good luck.

So you didn't notice any significant differenent when switching between amps? What do you consider when choosing an amplifier?

I just don't buy into the idea that DAC/amp synergy with headphones can be understood by reading what others say on the Internet. The difference between DACs/amps is very subtle (if distinguishable at all), and subjective evaluations of electronics are suspect as to credibility (e.g., learn about expectation bias) once you get up to the equipment that measures as well as what you are considering. So if many people say electronics A sounds better than electronics B, that I can kind of get into. But when people start describing how much better and describing the differences in SQ? And then I'm supposed to believe DAC/amp A is better than B for a certain type of headphone? I just don't think it's reliable at all.

IMO, about the best one can know is that tube amps will typically color the sound slightly in what some consider a pleasurable way, and good solid state amps and then also DACs aim toward transparency/neutrality. And also because you an change out tubes, tube amps give you the ability to tweak the sound. If you want to discover if equipment A is a better match for your headphones than equipment B, then you need to listen for yourself.

So what do I look for? Which amp has the power that I want to drive the impedance headphones I plan on using them with.

I'm not going to upgrade my amp/dac.after some time maybe...

Then, the K612 may be a better choice.
I read some positive comments on hd600 and vali, so I'll be fine with vali/modi for a while If i get hd600.and I'm planning to keep this hp for a long time.so I'm going with hd600.

Not used an HD600 but I'm currently using my HD650 with a Modi & Vali stack and it sounds just fine to me, so I see no reason why it shouldn't sound just as good with the HD600.
