Brand new, I'm scared of bending the head band as it might snap

I bought a brand new pair the other day from BestBuy. I returned them a couple hours later. I've never had ANY pair of headphones that fit worse, let alone $300 ones. Wasn't about to mess with the band. I didn't have to with D5K, HE-400, MS2i, any  Grado, T50RP, or any Beyer. The 550 was horrendous. Didn't sound too bad though.

I actually had a very positive experience with them. The first pair I had was in crap condition, but I did notice it had potential when I pressed the cups to my ears, however, they did not seal consistently. When I decided to try a new pair, I didn't have the clamping problem. They felt secure and once I pressed and positioned the cups, that was that.
