It could be. It's been a while since I did wear a K340, but I was pretty sure they wasn't surrounding my ears as a (let's say) HD650 would do. I must admit my head and my ears are not small, although I've never been told to have huge ears (they might say it at my back, though)

Anyway, my point was to state that distance between driver and ear is not what makes a phone supraaural or circumaural.

I must have gigantic ears then.
What I did to make my K240 and K340 fit better around my ears is that I replaced the earpads with Beyer pads. They are a little wider and fit better and more comfortable around my ears. Improves SQ too (better bass on my late production sextett).
