That's the cable I'm considering using, would this work? I'm also going to need a 1/4" adapter. I'm trying to find one in the catalog but this is a whole bunch of stuff to decipher. I already have two mini XLR connectors just in case I screw up the first one. Would this cable work and what 1/4" terminator would be best?

EDIT: Sorry for the bad link hopefully this one works.

I dont see any reason why that cable would not work just fine. I would wait to hear from some of the more experienced DIYers though.

way too big. i dont think you'd have much hope fitting 16awg wires in the mini xlr at all. its really really tiny in there. plus with my 3.7mm cable i used for my k240s recable i couldnt even fit the cable with insulation in the mini xlr with its strain relief boot. i just used the main connector body (as you can see from my pic), junked the rubber boot, and heatshrink over it.

you can use L4E5 starquad if you like, but it would be a bit of a mission, im not even sure you could fit all four 24awg wires in there.

if you have to use starquad (i wouldnt) use the L4E5, and only put 3 wires in to the connector (just snip the shield and 4th wire). at 4.8mm od its still pretty big .

id personally use the L2E5 twisted pair wire, 4.6mm od, only 3 conductor, should be the best choice out of the canare range and still only 31c at markertek.

im not kidding when i say mini xlr's are small, so unless you have spare cable or connectors lieing around, try go conservative and use the miniature cables.

my 3.7mm cable i used turned out to be just the right weight, stiffness, size when used with a single layer of techflex

its just a standard cable i had lieing around, so i can't link you guys to it sorry!

I used this for my ATH-900 recable...

I dont really care for the added weight of the new cable but it sounds good, much clearer and more dynamic than the OEM cable.

Heres the Y junction and the 1/4 plug... as you can see IM not finished with the plug yet. Theres a layer of hot melt glue inside the heatshrink at the Y junction. It holds the assembly together.

Surprised at how easy it went together. A simple $15 mod that noticeably improves most cans. Will do my DT770 next.

I search L2E5 and it brings up a carrying case. I tried the other link kramer150 put up and I see an internal server error.
