Hi, I have had the AKG 172HD for 10y or so, but they have not been used for a good while because of two cable breaks, one is close to the cans (8-9 inches) the other one is further down.
Going to replace the cable, thinking of cutting it and solder a 3.5mm (1/8") female connector and use a separate cable to the source.
Is this a good way to solve this or are there better days to do it?
