Hi All,
I plan to construct a cable for my K1000.
The cable will start with bananas from amplifier end and will be terminated with Neutrik 4 pin gold plated female plug.

The basic lead is 16 AWG copper, silver coated, teflon unsulated wire. I plan to twist two leads together (making ~13.5 AWG) and then twist all 4 pairs together. To imagine it, think about stock AKG K1000 extension cable, but replace each wire with twisted pair.

I want to hear your thoughts about this configuration and also your suggestions about constructing extension cable for K1000.

BTW, currently I'm pretty stisfied by K1000 stock cable.

Thanks.

I will be curious to hear your results. All data I've read indicates that silver coated copper is not a good idea. Since I've never heard it, you'll have to be the judge. I would encourage you to use single crystal copper (OCC) if you can find it.

Of course, the best interconnect is none. I plug my K1000s directly into the SAC K1000 amp without any extension.

Cheers,
