Hey Tyll.

[er, Jorge rather... I guess I just always assume its the big guy speaking]

Have you had a chance to compare them to the K701 to see if there really are new drivers in there?

EDIT: Just was looking over the product page. Looks great, but you might want to reword this as the second sentence contradicts the first...

How come I can't even find it on AKG's site?

You can find it under the professional section (as opposed to the personal section for most of AKG's better known headphones).

Unless I'm mistaken, the AKG K702 look like a more isolated version of the K701. As I'm considering the 701s, is there any way in which the 702s are a successer to the 701s? I've already got some closed cans that I'm happy with.

You are mistaken. The K702 is identical to the K701 except for the cable arrangement, color, and lack of the stand.

Ah, my apologies. From the blurb on their site they said that the K702 were created for people working in 'busier environments'. I think blurb is the best word for their misleading description..

Have there actually been any comparisons between the two? I haven't heard anything from Headroom or Moon Audio about possible differences, and the only people who own K702's so far do not own K701's. I do agree that they look identical though.
