AKG+Electronica=Bliss

I guess we have different opinions then. Trance coming out of bass-light speakers/headphones just isn't worth listening to (in my opinion). It just doesn't sound like proper trance to me.

If you meant pure electro (boards of canada, squarepusher, etc.) then I do agree with you.

However, I was talking about trance, not electro (since the OP specifically mentioned trance)

I actually (when i listen to speakers) turn down the bass, but trance has imo ALOT of different subgenres. I usually listen to melodic trance, but DJ Tiesto/AvB stuff (I call it commercial trance) is indeed not worth listening too without bass.

OP, if you ever get a chance take a listen to the Sony SA5000 - although I prefer my AKGs overall, for electronica the ridiculous speed of the Sonys headphones plus the more impactful bass made it a winner.

Thats a silly thing to say... Im from Germany originally which is one of the clubbing capitals of the world. I have been to more clubs than I can count, especially in Berlin and München, and I love AKGs with electronica.

If you wanna go down that road I'm from England and saw Armin in BMC Mallorca and he certainly wasn't using AKGs. Furthermore the bass pumping from those speakers was felt in your abdomen, bass depth is techno, anything else and your basically stood outside the club.

I understand AKGs arent great for DJ´ing, especially these... they´re open. If your theory is correct, we should all be listening to rock music at ear splitting levels and moshing with our family members and/or holding lighters at the slower songs to simulate concerts. You dont have to hear music exactly like in a club to enjoy it. Besides, I just got back from England recently... I seen your "rock clubs" with thousands of chavs playing the air guitar, all I can say is LOL.
