Anybody knows, please, the differences in the sound between the AKG K141Monitor and K141Studio, and between the K240Monitor and K240Studio? Assuming all headphones properly amped...

Thanks in advice!

Bye

Well, as far as the K240M/S comparison is concerned... The K240M has an almost identical midrange to the Studio model, but with a bit less treble energy and significantly less bass. I can't remember how tight the bass is on the K240M... but the K240S is a bit flabby/loose despite being more prominent in the low-end.

Thanks for the reply... the K240Studio seems very good for my taste!

I'm wating for other head-fiers opinions...

Hmmm, well, then...

...K141M vs. K141S for me boils down to terribly uncomfy vs. terribly uncomfy. After gathering these impressions, I looked no further...

...whereas K240M vs. K240S for me boils down to priceworthy & nicely groovy sounding headphone of the 80s vs. priceworthy & nicely groovy sounding headphone for the New Millennium.

K240M can be lovely with good integrated amp & receiver headphone outs, though - whereas I'd always prefer the K240S combined with a modern headphone amp. And yes, most apparent differences are bass level and extension.

P.S.: Quite a bit of interest for the K240S lately. How come? I wonder whether that has anything to do with the recent PortaCorda II flood... Nice combo, btw, just in case I had never mentioned that...

After having owned the 240s for sometime now, I really wish I had gone with the 240m. I think the bass is over blown on the "s" model and I'd rather have it flat.

I can concur with lini;
I enjoyed the K240M real much with the headphone jack of integrated amps.
Its impedance and bass 'manners' make it a very effective combination.

And I loved the balance of the K240M itself; instead, I'm scared by that sloped response of the K240S ; I think it might end up sounding a tiny bit aberrant with an integrated amp...

The thing that AKG missed at achieving is updating the sound of the K240M according to the present standards of naturalness/musicality without messing up with the balance...
Unless you're fond of groovalisers.
