Hi folks, I intend buying an AKG K1000 HPs some day and I was wondering what you reckon on these Chinese amps for about £90 on ebay.

It'll be until I get a SAC AMP.

What's your opinion on the build and components please TIA

OK - I suspect the components are junk.

1. Novar Gold electrolytic capacitors are not recognized by anybody as quality audio. They appear to be a straight ripoff copy of Nichicon Fine Gold electrolytic capacitors, which are recognized as quality audio-grade capacitors.

2. Wima does not make any "CCB" film capacitors - only FKP, MKP, FKS, and MKS.

3. The opamps appear to be TI, but the best TI opamps have Burr-Brown logos. They could be new LM4562s, which TI bought, but not sure if TI is re-branding them yet.

4. There's no guarantee that's a genuine Alps RK27 volume pot - Chinese fakes have been around for years - down to the label on the back. Need to see the shaft to be sure.

Based on the outright deceptive parts copying, I would guess the rest is junk, too.
