I own the Shure SE535 paired with the FiiO Utws5 to go fully wireless.
Unfortunately, I’m not very happy with that combination. There is a notable hiss at higher tones wich sound almost some kind of overdriven and very sharp. Also they are not very comfortable. Neither the Shure (which seem to be bigger than the 215 and 425 I owned before) nor the Utws5.

Though I’m using Shure IE for more than a decade now, I’m considering to replace them with the AirPods Pro gen 2.

Would that be a good idea?

I have owned the Etymotics 4R4P, 535s(sold them because they sounded dark to me. I enjoy a more neutral balanced sound), Flare audio Golds with the ability to go from wired to wireless with the included Bluetooth/DAC module from flare audio it’s been quite a great synergy of sound package with their Bluetooth audio playback. Quite remarkable the audio I got from the Bluetooth playback versus wired. Maybe 10% loss in sound quality. This has been my portable roaming around and doing outdoor activities. It’s been wonderful but being entrenched heavily in the Apple ecosystem I thought it might be the right time to try the AirPods Pro 2. I purchased mine through Costco, as their return policy is outstanding. 90 days to try them out and if I didn’t like them I can return them for a full refund. Nothing to lose comparing them to my flare audio golds they are on the same playing field believe it or not. I was really impressed . I was testing trying my best to find ways to return them but at the end of the day they are too convenient, they work so effortlessly. Pull them out of the case and they sync pretty much instantly. No bugs or glitches, 95% of the time they just flat out work. Love it. I use them to play from my tidal music collection. They are keepers. For me this Bluetooth audio wireless setup is the way to go. Glad I bought them for sure.
