I've read what Headroom has to say comparing these two amps, but I would like to know what others of you think? There's about a $100 difference between these two amps. Do the higher quality parts in the Total Airhead improve the sound compared to the Airhead? And if so, by how much?

I'm talking about the newer 4.5V, three AAA battery amps.

Based on listening at the WoHT in Orlando, portables are:

Airhead, Porta-Corda, Altoids, Total Airhead, worst to best. I didn't include the WORST of show, the Boosteroo.

The Total Airhead, 4.5 volt, was clearly the best of the portablr group. The RA-1 was close enough to compare as well, and seems to be in the Porta- Corta range.

The new TAH is a definite winner.
