Air Purifiers.. Help?

If the filter you just bought has a pre-filter, vacuum it often, and when you do, remind yourself that the fine grey powder you are vacuuming would otherwise have been scattered throughout the room... If the powder is really black as you imply, well that's scary...tar...carbon particulate...soot...

When we were living in Jersey City, NJ during 9-11, the World Trade Center smoke drifted over the river and directly into our river view bedroom window whenever the wind changed directions. It stunk for two months.
I got Honeywell Hepa filters in the room right away and as a result we slept in clean air with our cat. Now we live on the beach in CT but I still use the Hepa filters just because I grew to like them in the bedroom at night. They also have a hum that covers up noises in the night that might wake me up. The one I'm using now I got at Bestbuy.com for $99. I have the large and medium sizes as well but the small one kicks up almost at good as the one twice it' size.

Hmmm, my linky is not showing search results.

OK, lazy folks, click on that word above called, "Search".

When it drops down, enter, "Air Filter".

Hit enter.

Start reading.

Enjoy.
