I'm ripping lossless AIFF files from my CDs and adding them to my iTunes library. I have a few questions.
1. 24/96 playback: I figured out that via Audio MIDI Setup I can change my output from 16/44.1 to 24/96. But it won't work for my Fiio E7 - the option isn't there, the only thing I could to was step up to 16/48. Is something else going on from the Fiio?
2. iPhone playback: can I add AIFF's to my iPhone with some tweak? If not, that button on the summary screen for the iPhone in iTunes that says "Convert higher quality files to 128kbps AAC" - can I change that to 320kbps?

With the iPhone, there's no support for anything beyond 16-bit 48.000 Hz audio. You'll need to down-grade the audio to put it on any PMP aside from the Hifiman, as far as I know.
With the E7, are you sure it supports 24/96? It might not have hardware support for it.
