an ipod it is then. would anyone suggest the color screen over the standard on a new 4g 20gb, its extra 30$ for color screen. will battery life be the same?

apple is running a student special on ibook/ipod combo so im going to try to swing that. ive been curious how mac OS-X works and i guess a sub 1000$ portable like an ibook is the best way to learn it.

thanks for the replies, i'd assume the color would hold its value alittle better too. 4g 20gb color seems like an all around good choice. i honestly thought going into this portable shopping that i would end up NOT getting an ipod

This is subjective, I had both an ipod and an iriver ihp-120 and ended up keeping only the ipod. My main goal was sound quality, to me the ipod just sounds better.
