i am after a set of the denon's.
popped into local dealer today to see if they could get near to internet prices (£700)
best he could do was £800.
he said " if you buy from internet, make sure they are uk models and not grey imports"
surely they are all the same , right???

They all originate from Japan, so they should be the same. The grey import argument is somewhat redundant - there is not a special UK-spec version of the Denons, and there's no compelling reason to support local Denon headphone distributors (especially when they think 1USD-1.1GBP is a fair rate of exchange). The only slight issue may be that your warranty rights may be affected.
If you can, try and find a used set from someone who'll ship internationally.
