I was just wondering if what i've bought was justified for the price. Therefore, i just took this earpiece which i've kept up and was ready to sell it away. THen i thought i might just put my opinions here. I was shocked as i realised that the ah-c351 was better than my cx-400. At first, i didn't feel so until i i started equalizing so that it achieved a normal sounding sound and it just owned my cx-400 in many areas. Instrument separation, sound stage and details except bass.

I could hear many things that i couldn't hear from my cx-400. some by side-by-side comparisons. In the ah-c351 it's like you're in the room, with quite a laid back sound. It's also warmer than cx-400 though un able to reach lower. Though it has some sibilance, more than the cx-400 and the cx-400 has better highs( couldn't equalize this part out on the earphone, they just sounded bright all the way). They sound very real
Anybody else who has ah-c351?

I don't have C351, but i got it's big brothers C551 and C700. Both are amazing pieces of IEM. Can't go wrong with Denon's products.

at first i felt weird about the c351. like someone said before in this forum, the sound stage felt linear. But after equalizing, it really opened up. now i really wonder how the c551 could be to be better than c351

How much does the sound leakage and isolation differ between the AH-C351 and the AH-C551?

Quoting Head-Room: "The C551K features a proprietary Denon 'Acoustic Optimizer' port vent that allows for a slightly more open-toned soundstage presentation versus standard in-ear canal headphone designs. You'll likely lose a bit of overall isolation/noise-blocking ability due to the open port but the ambient noise trade-off might be OK if thoroughly isolating noise-blocking is not your main ECH decision factor."

Does this "feature" impact soundleakage much?

Well at about 3/4 volume level with Ipod Touch, i can hardly hear my C551 (when not inserted) in mall, bus, train and other normal noise areas. But in library or places where it is dead silent, it will only leak a little bit of the sound.

Forgot to post this. Got the Denon C551K's. Sorry to say I just don't like them very much. They sound crude compared to the RE2's. They have more bass, but it is not natural sounding, it is booming like the CX300's. The whole soundstage just does not sound very natural to me.

Part of this could be that I am just accustomed to the RE2's. I listened enough to know I'd rather keep the RE2's, and I don't need both, so the Denons are now for sale on the buy/sell forum.
