Can the popular replacement HD650 cables be reterminated to balanced,
(i.e are they 4-condutor all the way to the plug)?

Like Equinox, Blue/Silver Dragon, Zu mobius, Cardas etc?

At least Equinox, Zu and Silver Dragon are available as balanced. I'm not sure of Cardas but I would believe it's also available as balanced.

I am asking if the unbalanced cables, are 4-conductor, so I can reterminate

Might as well answer here as well... yes, they all have four conductors with the Zu using shielded wire for the grounds so it would not be as easy to work with as say the Cardas.

You can even simply reterminate the stock cable... it has four conductors as well. Quick, simple and cheap job... about $25 in parts total includeing the cable which makes up $15 of that.

Whoops, I misread the question.

Though it would be odd if there was a different cable for balanced use.

Blue Dragon Version 2: 4 conductors no shield
Silver Dragon Version 1: 4 conductors no shield
Silver Dragon Version 2: 4 conductors with shield
Cardas: 4 conductors with shield
Senn Stock Cable: 4 conductors no shield
All can be reterminated with 4 pin XLR. Solder shield to casing of XLR
