I dislike the build quality of the stock cable and am looking far an upgrade. Unfortunately, most recommendations are out of my budget, since they're tend to be $200-300+ fancy silver upgrades. Now I'm not dissing the whole cabling thing, but I just can't afford the moolah.
 
Are there any recommendations for an affordable (approx $100) replacement cable that's sturdier and perhaps gives some sonic improvement?

They've got a range of cables at different price points that offer sonic improvements of different levels. 
 
With your budget, you can try their entry level headphones cables -> Copper Series HPC Mk2 at 65 euros. 
 
Generally, Forza offers great quality cables and definitely there'd be some level of sonic improvements.
