ae-2 vs gilmore lite?

In the past I had AE1 and G-lite 2x. In terms of pure sound quality, I choose G-lite.

The new Pico would be a good alternative for 299$ for the cost of the amplifier and 499$ with a DAC.

x2... I'm eagerly waiting for the amp only version. Should be a very detailed, fast sounding circuit.

I'd take the g-lite over the AE-2. it seemed to have a more energy at the ends of the spectrum, if memory serves me right. Especiially paired with that power supply.

I owned AE-2, Gilmore Lite v2 w/ DPS, and GS-1 at the same time at one point. The AE-2 and GS-1 had a similar sound sig. The main advantage of the Gilmore Lite though is its energetic drive which makes it pair great with headphones like the Grado SR-225 or HF-1. I also enjoyed it the most with an Audio-Technica ATH-AD2000.
