My brother is going to be starting college in the fall and unfortunately he is going to need to get a loan.

The lazy arse didn't fill out his FAFSA.

Any tips on what I should watch out for and what I should look for?

Get a co-signer (parents). As long as they have half-way decent credit, you'll get the loan. Much easier, and lower rates, in my situation.

Grants are also easy to get, and you should look into them.
