Hi,

I'm looking for a portable player. It needs to be able to play FLAC files and have SPDIF out because I want to connect it to my desktop headphone setup.

Any ideas?

Im kinda thinking of just picking up an 8GB Sandisk Sansa Clip, slapping a 32GB MicroSDHC in it and loading it up with FLAC files. Then running it through my NuForce HDP for a DAC.

that will be "bottle neck"

besides, you must add additional power pack to play it longer, because FLAC with memcard will exhausting the clip's power

I thought Cowon supported gapless? Or is this not so on FLAC files?

I think most of the Cowon players do. This one actually has WinCe as operating system (slow). To be short, the V5 is great for watching movies, but horrible for listening to music. It actually does not matter if FLAC or mp3, gapless seems not to be implemented. Please do not get me wrong, the V5 is great. I think I watched for sure 1000+ episodes of different shows and lots of movies on it.
