I'm looking for a closed pair of headphones that I can use at the office... blocking out the ambient noise is primary consideration.
Uses will be:
(1) involvement in a trading chat room
(2) listening to music... taste is varied ...classical, jazz & some rock
the phones will be connected to my computer
additionally having a microphone combo would be nice as opposed to having separate wires...bit if I would be sacrificing sound quality I could use both...
oh ya and the ability to be portable would be added benefit
approx cost willing to pay $150
Present options include the Beyer DT234 ( have the mike option )or DT250
the AKG k28NC
and the allesandro ms-1
appreciate any and all feedback -thanks so much

the ms-1's are NOT closed, but they are a great pair of headphones. they will not isolate at ALL. so if that is important don't get the MS-1's. I think the best closed choice right now is the k81dj since you wanted a portable solution. if you don't really care about portable solutions, the dt770 (150 on ebay) and a700 (112 on amazon.com) will suit your purposes very well .the dt770's are big bass and the a700's more balanced.
