First off - just in case you haven't noticed - http://www.head-fi.org/t/596233/buying-portable-or-in-ear-headphones-seeking-guidance-dont-start-a-new-thread-ask-for-advice-here

Do you still have the CX685s? I can't find their nozzle size specified on their product page, but the point I'm leading to is that even though the shells look awfully weird for fit, perhaps trying aftermarket tips and not just the stock ones could help with the seal. They really aren't supposed to fall out so before you get something new I'd maybe try that to see if it might works.

If things don't pan out on that front though, regarding the replacement pair - while genres are helpful, perhaps you could expand a bit more regarding sound preferences in general? Signatures, particular characteristics where you particularly enjoy as your genres are being reproduced, etc. As we do have our individual preferences regarding reproduction of genres.

A quick, easy to get into choice though would be the M6. It's not the exceedingly well-performing budget pair that it once was, at least sound-wise, due to the new competition, but the form factor is really nice for exercise, the cable is nice, they sit flush over the ears so insertion depth is less of a PITA for some, and the plastic shells themselves are nice and solid.
