While testing some tubes today I ran into a problem testing a couple 7236 tubes (Cetron, Sylvania). I had the tester set for 6AS7 thinking this was the class of the 7236. Both tubes read out at 200-300 on the GM meter, unlike the 5000-5800 for other tubes marked 6AS7G (Min 1800).
Not wanting to damage the tubes stopped seeking clarification of the tube class and/or settings before preceding further .
I have scroll through the tube chart searching for a 7236 tube with no avail but admittedly the search is tempered by my mindset that this is a 6AS7 class of tube.
Any advice is appreciated.
Thanks
Will
