Hi everyone,

My old pair of sony mdr-ex70 are on their last legs, so I just needed some advice on what I should replace them with. I've read reviews on various IEMs such as ER, V-Moda, Jays. My limit in terms of budget would be about $AU150, although if I can of course get something better than my old sonys for less than that I will be pleased. Any advice would be great.

If your budget is $150AU, your best choice I would say in my opinion would be the UM1's. A pretty decent fit, single balanced armature.

UM1, IM716, or C751 are the main three in that price range. A little lower (110-130) are the Ety ER 6i's and head-direct RE2s. Any will be better than your sonys. Overall balanced out go for the C751, a bit bright and analytical IM716, and UM1's are warm.
