Hi guys!
This is kind of a three part-er, let me start off with what I want to do.
I want to make my own cables for AKG K702 and Sennheiser IE80's.
As of right now, after some planning, I have settled that I need:
2 - 3.5mm plugs
1 - mini-xlr plug (for the K702)
2 - whatever the plugs the IE80's use
1 - a lot of speaker wire.
Now come the questions:
1. What brand of wiring should I use if I want silver plated copper? Do I need sleeving for it? I really enjoyed the look of just non-sleeved braided cables (it has more of that custom look to it).
2. What kind of plugs DO the IE80's use? I can't for the life of me find that out anywhere.
3. What brands of plugs should I use?
I was looking at switchcraft for the 3.5mm plugs, but I'm afraid they might be too fat to fit on my phone due to my phone case having a only a small opening for the audio jack.
Maybe DHC? I really like DHC looks, but they're a bit expensive.
I was looking at Neutrik for the mini-xlr plug, and that seemed to be perfect for my needs, is this good?
Thank you guys so much for your time and efforts!
