Hi guys, I have a Burson HA-160. It's got some years behind it and has developed the issue where changing the volume mechanically on the wheel creates loud static.

I want to be able to adjust volume without having to touch it. I know it's possible as foobar2000 can do it. However I need it to work at an all application Windows 8 level.

Has anyone done it or knows how to?

Cheers.

The volume mechanical steps contacts are corroded, so turn/twist the volume knob few dozen (100) times fast to left and to right to clean it.
If that doesn't help then do this:

-------------

Set the burton volumeknob to the max. fixed volumelevel you want and then Use the Windows Mixer Volume Levels.

If you talked about overall windows volume normalizer then use this:

As suggested already, try fix the volume pot but if you like to go with software gain stage then, if you prefer having ASIO/KS output option then maybe you would like to check VB-Audios Voicemeteer http://vb-audio.pagesperso-orange.fr/Voicemeeter/index.htm
