Hi All

I just bought a new iPod classic 160 to go with a new BeyerDynamic 1350 portable headphones.

After reading everything I can find on Head-Fi, I'm trying to decide whether to add a DAC or DAC amp to go with the above.

I'm looking for audiophile sound quality while traveling on airplanes (I have an audiophile home speaker setup). If I can get great sound out of just the iPod, I'd certainly prefer to not add the complexity of another powered device. However, if it makes a difference, I'll add the DAC or DAC Amp. Was considering the Fostex HP-P1.

I enjoy a broad array of music, from Rock, Acoustic rock to modern folk music... with some electronic/dance/pop thrown in.

Any advice would be appreciated!

thanks

Dan

I guess you should try using it with your home setup, and if you have any headphone out, try it with that, compare it with the ipod.
But from the design, the DT1350 seems to be made for portable use, so I don't think they should be needing an amp.
