I recently purchased the Audio-Technica AD900 because its sound signature seemed to suit my taste in music (rock, metal). Playing music through it out of my onboard sound, however, left me with much to be desired. As such, I've considered buying a cheapo USB DAC/Amp combo that would hopefully fill the gap (for now). I'm a college sophomore, so the idea of building a dream rig is a bit distant.
I was wondering if anyone has heard about/tried the AD900 paired with either the EMU0404 USB? Or Fubar III? Or perhaps could recommend another USB DAC/Amp within that price range (upper 100-lower 200). I noticed that Amp options are a fairly new topic for the AD900 in this forum, and I was wondering why....
