I'm gathering parts to build a DAC based on the AD1865. Digikey keeps being out of stock so I decided to pull the trigger on one from ebay.
Got one from here: http://cgi.ebay.com/AD1865N-K-AD1865-18bit-Audio-DAC-upgrade-Audionote-IC-d-/170505604828?cmd=ViewItem&pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item27b2ed0edc
Mine arrived yesterday and looks exactly like that. What I'm worried is whether it's genuine or fake. Most of the pics I found online are quite different from mine.

The only pic I could find so far that looks the same like mine is the AD1865N:

So I'm wondering if anyone has experienced with this chip? Is there any chance of variation during the production?

The ones pictured here look the same as yours.
It is possible that the printing on the top changes
as they might the fab where it is made.

It may not be a true K version,  but I its definately an AD1865,  the difference is probably inaudible unless you are building a $1000 output stage.  Unless you buy from an authorized distributor you're odds of getting K rated DAC chips are low (they have stamps in china.)
