What I understand is that ANC headphones create an "anti-noise" wave to cancel out the original wave through interference...


So i am kinda baffled right now as whether our ears would be still under stress by these waves but we just dont hear them ( therefore still damage done), or whether the actual amplitude of the noise wave before entering the ear is reduced to none ( therefore no damage is caused)


Can any experts explain a bit of these concepts to clear things up?

Noise does not harm your ears. Loud volume is.

Which are advantages of IEM and noise-cancelling/isolating headphones because you don't have to volume up (actual loudness) to listen things loudly (perceived loudness).
