You guys are not making it easy to not pull the trigger on this, especially at 350 now....

I have owned and M2 for almost 2 years now and it is the most powerful DAP I own and is the only DAP I own that can make 600 ohm Beyerdynamics painful to listen to. the only downside I see to a new purchase is the fact that Android 4 has less and less app support (thanks google for fragmenting Android many times over) and eventually apps like tidal etc. wont function properly if at all

For me, app support is meaningless, as I don't use any of the streaming services (have my library from all my CDs over the years on flac). I just want something that can make mu current Lcd-2 and Hd650 sing like never before. For as much as everyone raved about the plenue 1 I have, it frankly hasn't blown me away yet...

if you are looking for a DAP with loads of power, the M2 is one that has loads of power. if you like how Burr Brown powered DACs sound this wont disappoint.

if you want a buttery smooth and polished O/S, this is ok but nothing spectacular

Power AND quality. I realize quality is subjective, but still.

And coming from a dx90 (only passingly even played with, bought it only because it was stupid cheap at a pawn shop) and the Plenue, I am sure the UI is fine.. neither of those are in any way fast or feature laden.. lol

Edit: Ok, I took some time to think about it and realized if I like this player, I can sell my now obsolete gear and come out the same or ahead (I am sure a plenue 1, cayin c5, fiio E12, dx90) can balance out the 350.. I am excited now...

Just received the AR-M2 as a Christmas present from my wife.
Up until now used the FIIO X7 MK II in balanced mode with Campfire Lyra II.

Honestly. Balanced makes a difference - unless the non balanced source is so much better than the balanced one -
The AR-M2 blows the FIIO (700 $) right out of the water!

Incredibly energetic, warm sound with crispy highs, outstanding mids (voices) and a very punchy, satisfying bass.

Seriously: Get the damn thing as long as you can - You won't get that sound for less than 1000 $ or more anywhere else.
